Standard Deviation & Effect Size

nQuery has the tools needed to estimate appropriate standard deviation and effect size

If you do not have a pilot study or a previous study on which to base your standard deviation, you can use options in the Assistants Menu to estimate standard deviation with your available information. 

nQuery's Assistants Menu includes three useful options for estimation of a standard deviation:

  • Data Entry (Standard Deviation Calculator) – for when individual subject values are available
  • Estimate Standard Deviation – to convert information from other formats
  • Specify Covariance Matrix – to specify the covariance matrix for repeated measure designs
